If you know me personally, you know I am not only a common pet lover, but also an exotic pet lovers. Yes, I basically love every animals. They are all cute and lovely, even some are venomous or labelled as “dangerous”. Yet, what causes them dangerous because they will attack, but only when they felt threaten, they will show their agressiveness. On the other hand, some animals are born in a very tame manners. And human catches them from their home and sell them when there is demand to keep them as pets or other purpose. FYI, this is a crime! Especially if these animals are in the endangered list! Hence, when KIPLING Malaysia raises the awareness and reduce consumer demand for White-Handed Gibbons as pets, together with Department of Wildlife and National Parks Peninsular Malaysia (PERHILITAN), I told myself, “I AM IN”!

FYI, The White-Handed Gibbon (scientific name: Hylobates Lar) is classified as Endangered (EN) on the IUCN Red List and listed on Appendix I of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) and listed as Totally Protected Species under Second Schedule Wildlife Conservation Act 2010. So yeah, don’t ever think to keep white-handed gibbon as your pet, ok? Unless you adopted them in zoo, that could be another case, perhaps.

Not sure if you guys know that, KIPLING adopted Dan and Cutie, a pair of endangered White-Handed Gibbons at Zoo Negara late last year and is conducting activations to promote gibbon conservation where sales of their bags will help to continue to fund the Initiative. Gibbons are small, arboreal apes distributed in the wild in the tropical and subtropical rainforests of Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The exact number of their population is unknown.

Besides, during The Kipling Initiative event, KIPLING also unveiled their KIPLING x emoji® Asia Exclusive Collection, a brand-new Asia-exclusive limited collection.
